Rachael Johnson began her career in 2000 with John Hancock Life Insurance Company and spent 2005-2009 with Merrill Lynch. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Grace Christian University. She is also a CFP® professional and an Accredited Domestic Partner AdvisorSM.
Rachael is a board game enthusiast, and participates in weightlifting, hiking, backpacking, and camping. One of her most memorable hikes was summitting Mt. Whitney in October 2012. Favorite authors include Thomas Sowell, N. T. Wright, and John Mark Comer. She became a Godmother to twin boys, Liam and Brayden, in 2014. She can be found accompanying them on all their Boy Scout adventures.
She also enjoys the company of her 3 dogs, Cambria (Pomeranian mix), Bear (German Shepard, Chow, Pit Bull mix), and Raider (Belgian Malinois and Husky mix). Final point to note. Mike is a Commanders fan. Rachael is a Raiders fan. Now you know who wears the helmet in the family.

Mike Bernard began his career in 1993 with Dean Witter. In 2000, he joined Merrill Lynch, where he and Rachael met for the first time. Their partnership began in 2005. In 2009, he and Rachael opened Bernard and Johnson Family Wealth Management as an independent practice in the Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network. In 2016 the path to full independence was complete and now Bernard and Johnson Family Wealth Management is an SEC Registered Investment Advisor. Mike is a certified Financial Planner™ Professional (CFP®) and an Accredited Domestic Partnership AdvisorSM (ADPA®).
Mike holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Catholic University of America and a master’s degree from Yale University. He served in the United States Army from 1974 through 1980 as a member of the United States Army Field Band as an oboist and English horn soloist.
Mike continues to enjoy a vibrant musical life in Los Angeles and has served as principal oboist in several local orchestras in the Los Angeles area. He ran his first marathon at age 50, completing a total of seven marathons in that decade. He is married, has two sons, and 5 grandchildren. Three rescued dogs (Luna, Ringo, and Bailey) round out the pack.
